Bread Pudding


1 (1 lb.) loaf French bread or sliced white bread
1 qt. milk
3 eggs, beaten slightly
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
2 Tbs. vanilla
3 Tbs. butter
Whiskey Sauce ( recipe under sauces)


Break bread into small chunks, and put in a large bowl. Add milk, and let soak about 10 minutes; crush with hands until blended. Add eggs, sugar, raisins and vanilla. Pour batter into a 13x9x2" pan. Spoon pudding mixture into pan; bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until pudding is very firm. Let mixture cool; then cut in squares. Place in dessert dishes, and spoon Whiskey Sauce over each serving.

Makes 12-15 Servings
