Winter Vegetable Soup


1 pint celery
1 pint carrots
1 pint green beans
1 pint cabbage
1 qt. beef broth or 1 soup bone
1 pint peas
2 Tbs. salt

1 pint corn
1 c. soup beans
1 pint lima beans
1 pint tomatoes
1/2 c. rice


Chop the celery, carrots, cabbage and green beans finely. Combine them with the rest of the ingredients in water to cover (except the rice), and cook them for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add the rice 15 minutes before serving.
