Rhubarb Oatmeal Bars


1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
3 c. strawberry-rhubarb sauce (recipe follows)

1/2 lb. rhubarb, cut into 1/2" pieces
1/2 lb. sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch salt
1 Tbs. cornstarch, dissolved in 2 TBs. water

1/4 c. chopped nuts


Combine flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add butter, mixing to make coarse crumbs. Press half of crumb mix into 13x9" pan. Spread with sauce. Top with remaining crumbs and walnuts. Bake at 375 for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes two dozen.
