Red Beet Eggs


2 cans red beets
1 c. vinegar
1 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
Stick cinnamon and whole cloves (in a pouch)
Hard-boiled eggs, shells removed


Combine the beet juice, vinegar, water, spices and sugar. Bring to a boil. Pour over eggs while hot. Beets on top will hold the eggs down. The eggs will have a nice deep color.
