Oysters on the Half Shell


2 large lemons, halved
1 c. cocktail sauce, chilled
2 dozen oysters on the half shell
Lemon wedges
Saltine crackers


Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each lemon half so that it sits flat. Gently remove pulp, leaving shell intact. Reserve pulp for other uses. Fill lemon shells with cocktail sauce, and place a lemon shell in center of 4 deep dishes filled with crushed ice. Arrange 6 oysters on the half shell around each bowl of sauce, and serve immediately with lemon wedges and crackers.
