Fresh Tomato Sauce


4 c. peeled seeded and finely chopped tomatoes
1 medium onion, minced
1 1/2 tsp. leaf basil
1 tsp. sugar
1 can (6oz.) tomato paste
3 cloves garlic, crushed


Combine all ingredients in lightly oiled Crock-Pot. Cover and cook on low for 6-12 hours or on high for 4 hours. If a thicker sauce is desired, remove cover and cook on high until sauce is reduced. Makes about 5 cups.
