Bread Pudding


6 sices day old bread
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. milk
3 eggs


Spread each slice of bread with butter. Into a loaf pan, layer bread and raisins. Beat eggs, milk and cinnamon. Pour over the bread. Let stand for 2 hours. If bread rises above the liquid, force down into pan so that all the bread will become saturated with liquid. Place pan in hot water and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350 (or until knife comes out clean).
