Sour Cream Cake


3 c. sifted flour
3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
1 c. butter
6 eggs, separated


Sift the flour and measurew. Sift flour twice more with the baking soda added. Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly. Add the egg yolks 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and baking soda mixture alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture. Beat the egg whites stiff and fold in. Bake in a large-sized, greased and floured angel food cake pan in a 300 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours. Cake should come out with a nice brown crust on top. Turn out of pan immediately.
Frost with butter cream frosting.
