Pork Pie


Pastry for 2-crust pie
1 lb. ground lean pork
1/2 lb. ground lean beef
3 Tbs. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. water
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. mashed potatoes


Combine pork, beef, onion, salt, pepper and water. Cook slowly for 45 minutes. Add cloves and cinnamon; cook 15 minutes longer. Add potatoes to meat mixture while hot. Let cool thoroughly, or about 1 hour, so flavors will blend. Turn mixture into pastry-lined 9" pie pan. Adtust top crust, cut vents and flute edges. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.
